Kellea partners with organizations and agencies of all sizes to design hard-hitting programs to advance human rights. She specializes in programs that include grantmaking components. Examples include:
Kellea co-designed UN Women’s Fund for Gender Equality, a US$68+ million multi-donor initiative designed to fast-track action on women’s economic and political empowerment. As the Fund’s second staff member, Kellea developed and executed a foundational grantmaking system for 1,200+ proposals in the first grant cycle, coordinated the global Technical Committee to select high-impact, innovative women’s rights program, supported development of 5-language one-of-a-kind online application and database, managed a team of multi-lingual gender specialists & additional consultants, wrote communication, fundraising materials, and web content for visibility, and conducted analysis of grantmaking data to strengthen the Fund’s strategies, document lessons learned, and identify potential areas for further research.
Leading the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice’s groundbreaking LGBT Global Development Partnership with the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) and cross-sectoral partners, Kellea has shaped the vision and implementation of this one-of-a-kind investment in global LGBTI rights through grants, research, media and communications technologies, and capacity building.
